Offseason continues with good news to share after the Southern Generals (USA) was announced as the first team selected. The second club to be selected on the CMC 2019 roster - the Cleveland Havok from the USA!
The American club will be managed by Havok president Kevin Franklin . Franklin has been the talk of the international game for the last two seasons. "We are very excited to be apart of such a great international event", said Franklin. We are coming to win and more importantly help our ladies get signed to a club.
Coach Kevin Franklin has a lot of international experience starting back in 2012 in the FIBA Jones Cup (Taiwan). Franklin helped Team USA win a silver media in the Olympic qualifying event. He has also participated in the Copa Mitchell Cup (men) along with Liga Mediterranean Cup in Barcelona, Spain. He is now the current owner of the Team Havok brand playing in the Universal Basketball Association.
Headlining the Monarchs roster is former Western Michigan star Miracle Woods. Woods was All-Mac 1st Team player in her four season with the Broncos. She finished her college career with a 13.9 point per game and 7 rebound average. After college Woods signed in Finland for Forssan Alku.
"We pride ourselves on improving basketball in Germany ", said MSP President Martin Spicker. What better way to improve our players than inviting the world in. Having other cultures gives more experience. This is why I am thankful to J.D. Barnes for this partnership.
